A Fusion of Art and Tech
In 2022, French-Tunisian artist El Seed collaborated with architect Shaun Killa on “The Seed”, a striking calligraphy sculpture integrated into Dubai’s Museum of the Future. While the museum’s iconic torus structure features 3D-printed facade panels, “The Seed” itself is a standalone piece where El Seed’s Arabic calligraphy is precision-mapped onto a 3D-designed form. This isn’t a flat mural—3D modeling was key to shaping its flowing, sculptural curves.

How It’s Made
El Seed’s script, meaning “growth” in Arabic, was digitally designed and 3D-rendered before being fabricated with advanced tech. The structure uses lightweight, composite materials, with 3D design driving its complex geometry—impossible without modern tools. Installed in the museum’s courtyard, it’s both art and a structural feat.

Why It Matters
Unveiled with the museum’s 2022 opening, “The Seed” grabbed headlines for blending cultural heritage with cutting-edge design. It’s a proof-of-concept for 3D tech in art, influencing projects across the UAE’s design scene. For El Seed, it’s a bold step into three-dimensional storytelling—raw, real, and unmistakably his.
